Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief is a musical based on the book by Rick Riordan of the same name. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon is tasked with retrieving Zues’s lightning bolt which has been stolen by an unknown villain. The show takes the story from the book and delivers it in a rock concert style musical so the director requested that the design departments create an exposed rock concert style show. My design achieved this through the use of heavy haze, plenty of moving beam effects and hanging lights on the set with exposed cable and hardware.
